The coming decade sees the ushering in of a new era characterized by humane and sustainable development. Making sustainability mainstream, in terms of bringing together economy, society, and environment in a balanced and profitable way through the governance and strategic outlook of our cooperatives, is a huge challenge. At Fagor, we see this as an opportunity to reconnect with our roots and take a significant leap forward as we build upon the experience we’ve gained as part of this journey.
Just as we’ve done in the past, we want to act as leaders in providing innovative answers and realigning cooperativism to the new times of change ahead.

Fagor is guided by a democratic business model

Democracy is a practice that has been extended to the world of business, and we operate on the basis of one member, one vote. Our associated employees are active as owners, shareholders and managers. We have been developing a cooperative governance model that is committed to Sustainable Development Goals and our general assemblies are our top level of management, where we take all of the most important decisions that determine our future.

At Fagor, we put people first

At Fagor, our people are at the centre of what we do. We are all in charge of a shared project, building our future together, with a commitment to delivering an even better cooperative to future generations than the one we received. To help our people give the best they can, we’ve done our best to create a working environment fit for the modern age, promoting teamwork, encouraging diversity, caring for our people’s wellbeing, and making a genuine work-family life balance possible.

We believe in fairness and solidarity between people and organizations, so our pay scale is capped at 1:6, and we provide each other with the mutual support necessary so that all of us can prosper.

At Fagor, we believe in the development of open models

Innovation is key as we adapt to a new era characterized by sustainability and economic digitization. We believe in the development of open models, and we work in close collaboration with local organizations to speed up the evolution of our cooperatives in developing an open business environment.

At Fagor, we want to be part of the solution

Climate change obliges us to rethink our relationship with the environment, to abandon the linear fossil fuel economic model and move towards a circular, renewable energy one. At Fagor, having been part of the problem, we want to be part of the solution. We are working, therefore, to reduce our carbon footprint and make more efficient use of the materials that we use in our production process.

At Fagor, we have a stake in society

We emerged more than 60 years ago in order to meet the needs of our community, a community in which our roots are founded. The challenges which society faces are also ours, and we work closely with other cooperatives, social groups and public bodies as part of an effort to find solutions to the challenges, old and new, that we must face in the 21st century.

These are the main initiatives that we at Fagor promote and support:
